Mandara Hut: Mandara Hut is the first overnight stop on the Marangu Route. It offers basic amenities including bunk beds in dormitory-style rooms, communal dining areas, and basic restroom facilities. There's a small shop where you can purchase snacks and bottled water. The huts are relatively comfortable but don't expect luxury accommodations.
Flora and Fauna: During this part of the climb, you'll transition from the lush rainforest of Mandara to the heath and moorland zone as you approach Horombo. You may encounter a variety of flora and fauna, including different plant species like giant lobelias and senecios. You might also spot some wildlife such as monkeys, birds, and if you're lucky, larger animals like buffaloes and elephants.
